Empowering communities to prevent,
control, and fight disease.

Starting in Kilifi County, Kenya, growing village by village

OCHADPAF is an African-led health foundation that goes into the village, listens, trains the people who live there, and leaves behind a stronger, healthier, more empowered community, ready to care for one another.

WHO WE ARE

An African Organization Built from Within

OCHADPAF, One on One Complete Health and Disease Prevention in Africa Foundation, was founded by Kenyan health professionals who know these communities from the inside. We go into the village, we listen, we train the people who live there, and we leave behind a healthier, more empowered community, capable of caring for each other. Then we move to the next village.

"Our model is one on one, one person teaching another, one community empowering the next. We do not create dependency. We build people who can take care of each other."

— Grace G. Kamau, RN, ACNP, PMHNP | CEO & Founding Director

OUR VISION

"A world where communities are empowered with knowledge and resources to prevent disease, manage chronic conditions, and enjoy longer, healthier lives."

OUR MISSION

"To reduce the burden of disease, one village at a time, through prevention, community empowerment, and one-on-one care for both communicable and non- communicable diseases."

Kilifi, Kenya, Where We Begin

Our First Village

Kilifi County, Kenya is where OCHADPAF's journey begins. With 66.7% of its 1.4 million people living in poverty, virtually no mental health services, and diagnostic imaging available only at unaffordable private costs, Kilifi represents the gap OCHADPAF was created to fill. These are the people we are building for.

Core Values & Pillars

What OCHADPAF Stands For

Six pillars guide everything we do, from how we enter a village to how we train a community
health worker to how we decide who receives free care.

Prevention First

The best care is the care people never need. We screen, educate, and empower communities before disease becomes crisis.

Community Ownership

We train people within the village to care for their neighbors. Health knowledge stays in the community long after we move on.

Women & Children First

Women, mothers, survivors of gender- based violence, and children are at the heart of every program we run.

Mental Health as Healthcare

We treat mental health with the same urgency as physical health, including psychotherapy for rape survivors and trauma victims.

Evidence & Research

We track, document, and share what we learn, building an evidence base that will inform our programs and guide future partnerships with research institutions in Kenya and beyond.

Dignity & Equity

No patient is ever turned away. Those who cannot pay receive free care. Healthcare is a right, not a privilege.

The One-on-One Model

Communities That Care for Each Other

OCHADPAF does not build dependency, we build capacity. Our one-on-one approach means every person we reach becomes someone who can teach another. Every community we empower becomes a model for the next.

One trained health worker teaches ten neighbors

One on One. Village by Village.

We go in, we learn, we serve, we train, we empower, and then the community carries it forward themselves. That is how lasting health transformation happens in Africa: not from the top down, but person to person, village to village.

One empowered village becomes a model for the next

One community health center serves the surrounding region

One diagnostic center gives access to CT, ultrasound, X-ray, mammography, and EKG, for free or at minimal cost

Starting in Kilifi, expanding to more villages across Africa

Enter the village

Listen. Learn. Understand real
community needs.

Build & deliver

Build the center. Deliver care.
Screen and treat.

Train & empower

Train locals to care for each other. Leave capacity behind.

Move to the next

Take what we learned. Go to the next village.

Be Part of Building Something That Lasts

We are raising money to build the OCHADPAF Center in Kilifi, the first of many. Every dollar empowers a community to take care of itself.
